ADELE
My girl.
My squirrel.
My little pink pearl.
A year and a day ago, before you were born, I wondered how I could ever love a child as much as I loved Lucas. Then you came into this world and you were so precious, so perfect. I loved you right from that moment, but I also remember the exact moment I fell in love with you. You were two months old, lying with your head on my chest. You were so content, with your arms stretched out and your little hands grabbing my arms. You began to softly say “Tuh, tuh, tuh, tuh” and I looked down at you and fell in love. And every day I fall in love with you more.
When you smile sunbeams shoot out from your eyes. You look all around at this big world and point with your little squingee fingee and say “tum bum” at whatever you see. You crawl across the yard and pick a red cherry tomato and talk to it. You clap and giggle at your brother. You cry the saddest cry when I tell you no, you can’t stick your hand in the VCR. You bounce along when you see a band play. You stand up and surf the world, and fall and smile and get right back up again.
I hope I can be the mother you deserve. I love you my girl.
Happy Birthday Wonderful You!
